Maracon ja peli-illat
Syystä että yli kymmenhenkiset yleisötapahtumat ovat tällä hetkellä kiellettyjä, Talvimaracon on peruttu. Myös viikottaiset peli-illat on peruttu toistaiseksi.
Peliseuraa jos kaipaa, sitä voi yhä huudella CRYOn Discordin peliseuranhaku-kanavalla, ja olemme harkinneet myös erillistä kanavaa peleille, joita ihmiset olivat toivoneet vetävänsä Maraconissa. Rohkaisemme myös jäsenistöä käyttämään hyväkseen erilaisia etäpelimahdollisuuksia.
CRYO on myös evakuoinut kokoelman pelejä yliopiston varastolta, joita voi lainata PJ:tä pyytäen. Pelilista alempana.

Due to the fact that public events for over ten people are currently forbidden, the Winter Maracon has been cancelled. The weekly game nights are also suspended until further notice.
If you need company for games, you can still search for it on the peliseuranhaku channel on CRYO’s Discord. We have also considered a separate channel for games that people wished to play at Maracon. We also encourage members to try and use the many different ways that exist to play games over the Internet.
CRYO has also evacuated some games from the University, and they can currently be borrowed by asking from the Director of the Board. The list of games will be below.

Hallituksen järjestäytymiskokous pidetään myös peli-illassa klo 17. CRYOzine 2019 on painettu, ja sitä saa tämän vuoden viimeisestä peli-illasta sekä todennäköisesti Star Wars -katselmuksesta!
CRYOzine on cryolaisten tekemä lehtinen johon järjestön jäsenet ovat kirjoittaneet erilaisia juttuja järjestölle kiinnostavista asioista, mm. rooli- ja lautapeleistä. Uusin painos on melko paksu, sisältäen 11 artikkelia sekä taidetta!
Zinet maksavat jäsenille 3 € / kpl ja muille 5 €/ kpl, eli otahan lompakot mukaan (myös kortti käy). Zinejä voi myös mahdollisesti saada CRYOn Star Wars episode 9 katsemuksessa Starissa ennen tai jälkeen elokuvan, joka alkaa 19:30 aikaan. Zinejä saa muuten taas peli-illoista sekä CRYOn muista tapahtumista ensi vuoden puolella.

CRYOZINE is here again!
CRYOzine 2019 has been printed, and it can be purchased at the last game night of this year and also quite possibly at the Star Wars movie trip!
CRYOzine is a zine made by CRYO members, where they have written different small articles about stuff that they found to be interesting for the people in this organisation, such as board- and roleplaying games. The newest number is pretty big, with 11 articles and art filling the zine! CRYOzine is mostly in Finnish, but you can spot an english language article here or there. And it can be practice for Finnish, so it’s worth it to check it out!
The zines cost 3 € per number for a CRYO member, and 5 € for everyone else. So take your wallets with you (card payment is also possible). You can probably get zines also when we go see Star Wars Episode 9 at Movie Theater Star before or after the movie, which begins at 19:30. You can get zines after that next year at our events, such as our regular game nights.

CRYOn Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker -katselmus on 18.12.2019 klo 19:30 Elokuvateatteri Starissa!
Vuosi kulminoituu taas uuteen Star Wars-elokuvaan, tällä kertaa episodiin IX, jota CRYO menee katsomaan tunnelmalliseen elokuvateatteri Stariin!
Homma toimii niin, että menet osoitteseen http://www.elokuvateatteristar.fi/naytosajat/star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker-2d.html ja varaat itsellesi haluamasi paikan keskiviikon 18.12.2019 kello 19:30 näytökseen. Lippu maksaa 14€, ja näytös tulee olemaan 2D:nä kotoisessa Star 2 -salissa. Osa keskeltä varatuista paikoista ovat varattuina jo monillekin cryolaisille, joten ei muuta kuin sekaan vaan!
Huom: sivuille pitää kirjautua sisään/rekisteröityä, jotta pääsee varaamaan paikkoja!
Liput pitää maksaa vähintään viisitoista minuuttia ennen näytöstä teatterilla, eikä lippuja voi enää varata tuntia ennen näytöstä. Opiskelijat saavat 1 € alennuksen! Huomaa myös, että OYY:n toimistolta opiskelijat saavat Stariin lippuja jopa 9 € hintaan! Kannattaa käyttää siis opiskelijaedut. Starissa saa myös työttömyys-, varusmies (1 €) ja eläkeläisalet (1,50 €).
Porukalla on mukavampaa, joten jos ette ole vielä itsellenne lippuja hankkineet, varatkaa näytökseen äkkiä liput ja nähkäämme 18.12.!

CRYO goes to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker at 18th of December, 19:30 o’clock @ Movie Theater Star!
CRYO shall again take a look at the newest movie in Star Wars -franchise! This year we will see episode IX of Star Wars, and this time too we will go to our friendly neighborhood movie theater Star to see it!
Here’s how it works:
Go to the address http://www.elokuvateatteristar.fi/naytosajat/star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker-2d.html and reserve yourself a seat at the showing of Wednesday 18.12.2019, “Alkaa 19:30” and pick the seat you want. The ticket will cost 14€, and the show will be in 2D. Some of the reserved seats in the middle have already been reserved by other cryolings, if you were wondering!
Hox. You’ll have to sign in/register to the site (you can see the sign in -buttons on the right, after you have picked the showing) to reserve seats.
You’ll need to pay for your ticket and claim it at least fifteen minutes before the show at the theater. Also you can’t reserve tickets anymore when there’s only one hour till the showing. With a student card you get 1 € off! But even better, you can get tickets for 9 € at the office of the student union of the university (OYY), if you’re a student! So here’s a chance to use your student discounts. Other discounts available at Star are a 1 € discount for the unemployed and conscripts, as well as a 1,50 € discount for pensioners.
Note that the website of Star is only in Finnish, so ask for help or Google Translate if you need it!
It’s more fun to go in a group, so if you haven’t bought your tickets yet, be quick to reserve tickets for this showing and we’ll see you on the 18th!
Also, we haven’t decided on a possible starting place to hang out and/or eat before the movie, but you can suggest one by commenting on the fb-event or at the general channel at Discord. We’ll go to Pub Tuisku for afters! There might some CRYOzines for purchase at this movie trip as well!

13.11. Hallituskähmintä
Tervetuloa hallituskähmintään, tai CÄHMINTÄän ™ (CRYOn Älyttömän Hienoon ja Mahtavaan Ihmisten Nappaamisen ja Turinoinnin Äctiön-päctiön-iltaan) 13.11. keskiviikkona Tellus Frost Clubissa klo 18!
Tässä hallitusrekry -iltamassa tarkoitus on esitellä cryolaisille sekä muillekin CRYOn hallituksen ja yleisesti CRYOn toimintaa, sekä mahdollistaa hallituslaisten kanssa hengailu ja hallituspesteistä kyseleminen.
Etsimme uusia hallituslaisia ensi vuoden hallitukseen, joten jos olet hetkeäkään miettinyt että sinua voisi kiinnostaa edistää oululaista peliskeneä, saada noppia järjestötoiminnasta ja matskua CV:hen tai yleisesti avustaa CRYOn toiminnassa millään tavalla, tässä on mahdollisuutesi tulla kuulemaan hommista! CRYOn toiminta on kivaa, joten kannattaa miettiä mukaan lähtemistä!
Pestejä on monia, ja nykyisen hallituksen kokoonpanoon voit halutessasi tutustua nettisivuillamme (http://www.cryo.fi/wordpress/hallitus/), mutta esimerkiksi jos tapahtumien järjestäminen, uusien projektien ideoiminen, sihteerinä toimiminen, tiedottaminen, raha-asioiden järjestely tai puheenjohtajuus kiinnostaa, hallitusrekryssä kuulet ja voit kysyä lisää! Hallituksessa voi olla myös paikka juuri sille toiminimelle, jota sinä ajattelet CRYOn tarvitsevan mutta mitä ei ole vielä olemassa.

30.11. CRYOn Syyskokous & pikkujoulut (vain jäsenille!)
CRYO ry:n syyskokous ja pikkujoulut tulevat taas!
Lauantaina 30.11. vietämme cryolaisten kesken joulujuhlaa Loositalolla Alppilan kupeessa.
Aloitamme tuttuun tapaan syyskokouksella klo 16, johon kaikki CRYOn jäsenet ovat tervetulleita osallistumaan. Kokouksessa valitaan tulevan kauden puheenjohtaja ja muu hallitus, joten jos joku pesti kiinnostaa tai haluat jotenkin tulla toimintaan mukaan, kannattaa ehdottomasti osallistua! Ja vaikka et haluaisikaan lähteä tällä kertaa hallitukseen, niin silti kannattaa tulla mukaan valitsemaan seuraavaa hallitusta. Kokouksessa käsitellään myös seuraavan vuoden toimintasuunnitelma ja tulo- ja menoarvio, kannattaa siis vaikuttaa!
Kokouksen jälkeen (tod.näk. n. klo 18-19) siirrymme juhlaosuuteen, jossa tarjolla on jouluista purtavaa ja juotavaa, sekä pientä ohjelmaa. Illalla sauna myös lämpiää, ota siis pyyhe matkaan!
Paikalla on sauna ja keittiö, sekä astioita saa käyttää. Kannattaa tuoda omat varsinaiset ruoat ja juomat paikalle, jos kovasti hiukoo tai kaljea haluaa! Pirskeet jatkuvat yöhön asti, mutta jossain vaiheessa etsiydymme jatkopaikkaan tahi kotia kohti juhlapaikalta.

13.11. Board Recruitment
Welcome to our Board Recruitment event, or CÄHMINTÄ, on Wednesday 13.11. at Tellus Frost Club at 18! In this recruitment event we will be presenting CRYO’s board activities (as well as CRYO’s activities in general) to CRYO-members and all others interested. We also want to make it possible for you to hang out with and ask about the positions in the CRYO board from our board members.
We are looking for new board members for the next year, so if you have at some point thought (or thinking now!) that it could be nice to advande our gaming scene here in Oulu, get credits for working in an organization and content to your CV, or just generally want to help in CRYO’s activities in some way, this is your chance to hear about us! Being in CRYO’s board is fun, so you should definitely think about joining!
There are many position in the board, and you can see what kind of jobs we have in this year’s board at our website (this part only in Finnish, http://www.cryo.fi/wordpress/hallitus/), but if you’d be interested in e.g. organizing events, thinking up new and fun projects, being a secretary, informing, handling money as a treasurer or becoming the chairperson, come to the event and ask more! There also could be a place in the board for a position that you think it should have, but it doesn’t have yet!
It will be possible to become a member at the event if you’re not one already. At the event there is also snacks, and after the presentations we will be hanging out freely in Frost Club.
But don’t worry if you can’t make it but wanted to learn more about CRYO board – the Fall meeting is on 30.11. and there the decisions about the next board will be made, so there’s plenty of time to discuss positions that you are interested in on discord and at game nights, or you can just arrive at the meeting and let it be known there what you’d like to be doing!

30.11. CRYO’s Fall Meeting & Christmas Party (members only!)
CRYO ry’s annual Fall meeting comes once again, and with that comes the Christmas party! We will be celebrating christmas times with fellow cryolings at the Loositalo (Lodge house) in Alppila area, on Saturday 30.11.
We start with our Fall meeting as usual, and the starting time is at 16. All CRYO members are warmly welcomed to participate, and for our English-speaking members we will make efforts to translate the agendas and hold the discussions in English as well. At the meeting we will be choosing the next chairperson and the rest of the board for the new year, so if you’re interested in any of the positions in the board or just want to take part in board activities somehow, then definitely come and join the meeting! Even if you’re not into that, it’s still worthwile to come to the meeting, as you can use your voice and help choose the board. We will also be going over CRYO’s action plan and budget, so come discuss it!
After the meeting we will start with the evening’s festivities, where there will be christmasy snacks and non-alcoholic beverages on offer, as well as some small program. Sauna will also be warm for the evening, so remember to bring your towel!
At the venue there is sauna and a kitchen, and you may use the dishes. It’s advisable to bring your own food and beers if you get hungry or get a hunkering for alcohol! The party will last into the night, but at some point we will have to move either to an after party or to the embrace of your own home, or some other location.
This event is members only. If you are a new member, take your membership card with you just in case!

Syksyn Maracon XLIII järjestetään 21.9.-22.9.2019 tuttuun tapaan Kaijonharjun nuorisotalolla.
Maracon on Oulun yliopiston roolipelikerho CRYO ry:n järjestämä maksuton, päihteetön ja kaikille avoin pöytäpelitapahtuma. Luvassa on roolipelejä, lautapelejä, korttipelejä, digipelejä ja muuta nörttimeininkiä!
CRYO tuo paikalle lautapelivarastonsa ja lisäksi voit tuoda paikalle omia pelejäsi. Peleihin ilmoittautuminen ja omien roolipelien tai isompien lautapelien ilmoittaminen tapahtuu biljardipöydällä aulassa.
Perinteikkäästi myös PJ-palkinto arvotaan tässäkin conissa, eli muistamme pelinjohtajia arpomalla jokaisen ilmoitustaululla pelinsä ilmoittaneen ja tämän pelin myös vetäneen kesken palkinnon. Vedä siis pelisi ennen sunnuntain loppuseremoniaa, jossa suuri PJ-palkinto arvotaan ja voiton sulo jaetaan!
Alle kahdeksantoistavuotiaat ovat myös tervetulleita, mutta vain huoltajan/vanhemman kaverin seurassa tai huoltajan kirjoittaman lupalapun kanssa, emme ota vastuuta pelien aiheuttamista traumoista alaikäisille!
Conin säännöt ja muu info tulee olemaan taas Suurella Infoseinällä, sieltä voi lukailla asioita. Kunnioitathan sääntöjä, jotka voi kiteyttää seuraavasti: ota toiset huomioon äläkä ole oikean elämän murhakulkuri-pelaajahahmo. CRYOn ständillä voi ostaa CRYOn myyntitavaraa ja tulla jäseneksi, kysy jäseneduista ja jäsenöitymisestä jäsenvastaavalta, Toritädiltä tai CRYOn hallituslaisilta/Maracon-tiimiläisiltä! Muista kirjoittaa nimesi myös vieraskirjaan jokaiselta käyntipäivältäsi!
Mikäli on kysyttävää tai mikäli olet kiinnostunut ohjelman, esimerkiksi isomman turnauksen tai runsaasti tilaa vaativan ohjelmanumeron, järjestämisestä, voit tuoda asian esille tapahtumasivulla tai ottaa yhteyttä Maraconin tekijätiimiin! Pe-la yönä yösijaa tarvitsevat, ilmoittakaa asiasta, niin koitamme saada teille katon päänne päälle.
Salimajoitus tarkoittaa edelleen myös sitä, että nukkumisaikaa on rajoitettu ja iso sali hiljenee nukkujien käyttöön öisin ja tilaa alkavat käyttää pelaajat tai tilaa mahdollisesti valmistellaan ohjelmaa varten klo 9 eteenpäin. TIlassa saa kuitenkin yhä jatkaa uniaan vaikka tila dedikoituukin pelaamiselle, kunhan nukkujat eivät nuku missään muualla rakennuksessa tai häiritse paikalla olevia pelaajia tai ohjelman järjestäjiä.
Paikalla on (rajoitettu) lukollinen tila, johon saa tavaroita säilöön. HUOM. ottakaa omat patjat, makuupussit ja tyynyt yms. mukaan, emme voi luvata mitään mukavuuksia! Patjoista ja muusta voi toki kysellä esimerkiksi tässä fb-tapahtumassa muilta cryolaisilta, että voivatko he jeesata.

MARACON-SAUNA
Pesutilat järjestyvät myös Maracon-saunan muodossa! Lauantaina klo 18 alkaa naisten vuoro, klo 19 miesten vuoro ja klo 20 alkaen sekavuoro. Saunamestarimme johdattaa conisaunailijat perille läheiseen saunaan. Tiedot saunasta tulee Maraconin Suurelle Infotaululle ja biljardipöydälle.

All rejoice, Maracon cometh!
Maracon XLIII will be held as usual at the Kaijonharju Youth house on 21.9.-22.9.2019.
Maracon is a free tabletop gaming event that’s open for all! There will be role-playing games, board games, card games, digital games and of course meeting other like-minded people, with the event playing out the whole weekend.
CRYO ry, the role-playing club of the university of Oulu will bring its own hoard of games to play from, and people are invited to bring their own favourites as well! Bigger games will be announced and signed up to at the designated info board in the main lobby.
We also continue the most Noble and Ancient tradition of the GM award, where we show our appreciation for the GM’s at the con by drawing lots between all the GM’s who put a game sign-up at the info board, and actually GM’d that game too. So lead those games before Sunday’s closing ceremony, and you might win the great prize and prestige!
All underage people are very welcomed, but youngsters must be with their guardian or an older friend, or bring a written permission from their caretakers, since we’re not taking responsibility for what happens at the table to the younglings! The event is also drug- and alcohol-free.
The rules of the con and all other information regarding Maracon will be once again in the Great Infowall. Go ahead and read the stuff, and honor our rules, which can be summarized: be considerate to others, and don’t be a real life murderhobo PC. CRYOs own stand will hold merchandise for you to buy, and you can also become a member at the con, ask about becoming a member and membership perks from our membership manager, the Market lady, or other Maracon / CRYO team! Also remember to write your name in the guest book!
If you have any questions or if you’re interested in arranging some program, you may bring it up on the event page or contact the CRYO team arranging the event! Also if you want to sell your scifi- or fantasy- (or just nerd-) related stuff, or want to represent your gaming related organization, contact us and we’ll get a market going! Volunteering to help with organizing the event is also always warmly welcomed!

ACCOMMODATION
This con, the accommodation happens again in the big hall so you may sleep at the event. If you need accommodation, please contact us via email: maracon @ (cryo). fi, and we’ll get you a roof over your head! Notify us if you need accommodation for Friday-Saturday night, we’ll try to get a place for you.
Sleeping in the big hall means that the sleeping time is limited, and the big hall will be reserved and quieted for the use of the ones accommodated in the evenings and the place is dedicated to sleeping until 9 in the morning. In the evening all players must have stopped playing their games in the big hall so people can come in and sleep, and by morning the lights will be turned on, people can start gaming and organizers start preparations for possible program in the hall. This time you can still continue to sleep there if you can, as long as you don’t move from the hall to sleep somewhere else or don’t disrupt players from their gaming or any program.
There is (limited) lockable space to hold your stuff in, and also a showering opportunity.
HOX: bring your own mattress, beddings/sleeping bag, pillow and other stuff you might need, we can’t promise you anything else but the floor to sleep on. You can still ask about loaning some beddings or other things from fellow cryolings for example in this fb-event.
If you have any questions or are still in need of some beddings or something else, Maracon-team will gladly help you!

MARACON-SAUNA
This con has con sauna, which means that we’ll try to get sauna for Saturday, and on Saturday the Sauna Master will take all who want to go to Maracon-sauna nearby to bathe during the evening. Details will be updated to the Great Info Wall and onto the billiard board at the event.
